Default Poll for Synthetic Users: Oil Change Frequency

For Synthetic user only, please vote once for the frequency of oil changes in your PILOT (or MDX).

I ran a poll a few weeks back, and a little more than 50% of respondents indicate they're using synthetic in their Pilots. Thought this poll might provide an interesting follow up as to the frequency of oil changes.

Starting which oil change did you guys move to synth? I read somewhere that, one should use the regular motor oil for first few oil changes and then move to synthetic. Thanks.

I use AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 motor oil and changed it after 15,000 miles (20,000 miles of our Pilot). Filter change and top off every 5000.

Have over 6000 miles on the current oil and will run it until oil analysis recommends a change.

You guys probably will roll your eyes, or ask, why?? But, I use Mobil1 0W-20/5W-30 and change about every 5,000KM/3,100miles, along with the filter. Yes, it's overkill, but I can't help it. I'm a tortured soul.

Anyone remember when Mobil 1 was first introduced.

They originally advertised 25K between oil changes.

I suspect research proved them correct, but they backed off due to auto warranty issues.
