Default poll, synthetic vs conventional oil

Curious what type of oil peoples are using in their Pilots. Going to let this poll run for a week. Please vote just once.

Let's try to keep this thread for "polling purposes" only...as there are plenty of other informative threads where people can discuss this topic- which alway tends to be passionate and controversial.

Mobil 1 for me........

I use it in all our vehicles. Overkill, I know, but what better fluid to be super cautious with!

Hope nobody minds if I give this poll a couple "bumps" this week... so as to get more participation. Thanks.

Mobil 1 since 1987. All my former vehicles since then were '87 Mercedes 190E 2.6, Mitsubishi Expo van 4WD and my current '91 Toyota X-tra cab V6 2WD pickup had no engine problems.

I was also maintaining my mother's '87 Acura Integra LS (she still got it and it's still running good), now with 150K miles was recently tested by the dealer service department. The engine compression test was still very good. It's on it's second tranny now.

For my Pilot? You guessed it, (when the time comes) Mobil 1.

Once I get my Pilot, I'll be using Castrol 5W-30 dino for all oil changes, shooting for ~ every 3000 miles or 4 months. Have used this scheme for 25 years on all my vehicles & has served me well - cheap insurance!

Will have a tough time waiting for that first one, will probably give in at 3000 miles!

Great color choice!! I too have used Castrol (dino) for MANY years. Only difference, I change mine every 5K.

Good luck with your Pilot!!

Thanks, colrorider - I'll post pics when I get it (hoping for the end of this week). The dealer did what he called an "online swap" with another dealership in Greensboro, NC for an EX with Sandstone Metallic so I could get one from the factory. The other option was to have a new one driven from another dealership ~250 miles away, but I didn't like that idea. Cost me about 2 weeks of waiting, but I think it'll be worth the wait!

I changed mine every 5,000 miles with dino oil(mitsubishi) from pennzoil to valvoline max life and where did it lead me? 202,000 miles on my 1988 galant sigma. But now for insurance, I use mobil 1 0W/30 in my pilot and hopefully to my two other new cars when I do my 5,000 mile service.
