When carrying out the last oil change, my local Honda dealer had bent back the shroud in the wheel well, tucked the edge behind a panel and left it. I wasn't too thrilled.
The plastic had taken on this new shape and would not stay bent to its correct configuration until I very gingerly warmed it up with a blow torch (yikes) turned down to a very low flame. I used Mobil 0W/20 Synthetic and, because of the inaccessibility of the oil filler cap, made use of a "Spill Saver" tube I bought years ago and never used until now. The thing works well and has a built-in on/off valve. I found it took exactly 5qts of oil and the change itself was pretty straightforward. Regards to all |

I don't know what that shroud is supposed to look like on the car, but if you needed to "heat treat" it to make it right, it will probably become brittle over time, crack at the fold, flap around for a while, and eventually fall off. I'd have them replace it.
