Question Another oil change question.

I have never seen this topic covered before.

Is it better to drain the oil cold or hot?

I've always done it hot (or at least warm.)

It seems to me there may be a benefit for either way.
Cold, all the oil should be in the pan.
Hot, the oil may flow out better and leave some oil behind for the next start.

It might be an interesting discussion.

Default

I drain the oil when the engine is warm and let it drain all night, that way you pretty much get all the oil to drain from the engine.
