Unhappy does your dealer offer a loaner for service

Just made my first appointment for my first oil change, and to straighten out some electrical issues I've had (back lighting on center console has never worked properly, and neither has the dimmer switch on the dash), so they need to keep my Pilot the better part of a day. They don't have a loaner, but I can rent a car from them for $17.00. Just curious what other Honda dealers offer.

My Dealer has implied that a loaner would be available when performing waranty work expected to take more than 3 hours. But I haven't had to hold them to it yet.

If you happen to have the "Honda Care" service contract, then the rental should be covered.
Quote:
HONDA CARE Rental Car Reimbursement *
In the event your Honda requires any covered repair, Honda Care helps get you back on the road with rental-car reimbursement of up to $35 a day for up to four days, dependent on repair time.

*Oil changes are not eligible for rental-car reimbursement.
See the link at the bottom of this link.

I've had more than one dealer imply a loaner would be available. It has never actually come to fruition.

Default Yes but...

Our dealer has a courtesy bus to run you around and a loaner or two...but the loaners are first come first served I think.

Default Schomp Honda-Littleton

Everytime I've needed a loaner, I've been able to get one.

Yes, I also have a Honda Care Extended Warranty, but the Service Director there has never even brought it up.

They've been great about loaners, when I've needed one.

Default What Is The Person's Official Title?

For those of you who have loaners at your disposal when you take your Pilot in to the dealer for service... what do they call the person who handles that? The Loan Arranger???

Default Loaner Available

Our dealer definatley offers a loaner car if we are going to be in for more than a couple hours. After we had decided that we were going to move ahead and ordered 2 silver pilots, the vechile that I was driving had a water pump problem 2 days later. I called the dealer and told them what my problem was, and they even loaned me a brand new vechile for a weekend until my Pilot came in !!

Default Honda of Princeton

barbmcs,

I do not know where you are in NJ, but Honda of Princeton offers loaners when requested when making an appointment. I am sure that I am paying for it with what they charge, but they are the closest dealer to me and it is convenient.

I'm in Middlesex County, I use Open Road Honda on Route 1 in Edison - its pretty convienent for me. I'm going to ask about having something that is under warranty fixed - - it seems only reasonable to provide a loaner!!

Cool

So I brought my Pilot in this morning, got a Land Rover Discovery as a loaner - they have a deal with Enterprise rentals - and got a call about 10 o'clock, that they needed to order a part, and they need to keep my Pilot overnight (my poor baby!!) I keep the loaner, the dealer is picking up the tab for the rental. So far, I'm a happy camper with the service, if they fix the problem - I be thrilled.

Highland Park Honda in Highland Park, Illinois (ie Muller Honda) offers free loaners if you specify the need when you make your appointment. We've used them twice now; quite handy.

I got a free loaner for some work that took over three hours but I took my life in my own hands driving the clunker. A '96 Grand Am that in its previous life was an Enterprise rent-a-car Mushy brakes, a high pitched squeal when you turned the steering wheel, frayed seat belts, need I go on.
