I replaced my 2008 Pilot EX-L cabin filter. It is the first time it has been replaced, because I had to cut the plastic cross member piece out. The job was easy with help from hondaman2 instructions shown here: DIY Cabin Filter Replacement
When I took the old filter out, I noticed a significant amount of gray foam pieces lodged on the intake side of the filter. I am wondering and worried…where did all that foam come from? I looked as best as I could inside the filter housing, but I did not see anything where it might have come from. The foam around the old filter was completely intact, so it did not come from there. I asked my dealer, but they did not seem to care in the least, they were clueless L Does anyone know where it might have come from upstream from the filter? Or are there exploded parts views of the housing where I might figure it out for myself......Thanks |

The bits of foam on the filter of my Pilot turned out to be trash from an unwanted visitor (mouse).
![]() I removed the blower fan, cabin filter, and use compressed air to blow (and clean) everything out. So far so good after the latest inspection (I pull the filter every other month or 3).
