I bought a 2011 Pilot in February of 2011 and the power steering pump just died on me - 4 mos old!!! Honda is trying to say I hit something and not cover it under warranty but I DIDN'T hit anything!!! Has anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks! |

Hit something?
If thats the case there will be evidence of damage. Would have thought that only the cooler is exposed to open air-most of the components of not all are protected inside the engine bay. Can you see any evidence of damage?

How does hitting something damage the pump, which is mounted to the engine? They are full of sh!t. You would have to almost total the vehicle to damage the pump by hitting something. If they will not cover it, go to another dealer until you find one that will honor the warranty.

I would recommend that you go talk to the sales manager in that dealership and ask for a refund.
Point being is that they are giving you bull**** so tell them you want your money back. At which point they will gladly repair the PS pump. And agreed the only way to damage the PS pump is if a boulder flew into your engine, and at that point that pump is the least of your worries. |
