Default Possible solution to some vibration problems... mine is a 2006 2WD Pilot

When doing the brakes this past weekend (Partial DIY Brakes: Pads, Rotors, Bleed; 2006 Pilot 74k: Thank you to hondaman2!!!) I saw a missing bolt after removing the driver's front wheel, on one of the transmission mounts. Could this be the source of the recent drivetrain vibrations that started and became worse these last coupla' weeks... I had been thinking some of which others have discussed on this forum: ACM(?)... VCM(?)...

Took out the shop manual and, along with the schematic at Maje s tic Honda's site, ordered the bolt over the phone from the local dealer. Didn't want to screw around with jacking/leveraging the engine/transmission so, thinking it would be covered by Honda's extended warranty, had it replaced by the same; however, this was not covered by HondaCare but, with all due credit to the service writer, was only charged $10+tax for the bolt and "repair".

Obviously, a bolt like this CAN work loose and cause problems... for all you DYI'ers, please keep a check on this, as well as all other bolts for the engine/transmission mounts... some of the mid/high speed vibration problems discussed on this forum might be attributed to something like this: improperly torqued or missing bolt(s).

So far, a few miles at highways speeds of 60mph+ and another few miles of local 30-45mph indicates the vibrations disappeared... will take it up to 80+ in the next few days and return a verdict.

Good catch, although I doubt it is the cause of your vibration problem. Good luck, regardless.
