Default Need Service Manual Instructions

I've been dealing with my front passenger door not locking/unlocking either via the remote transmitter or the door lock switches on either of the front doors. All the other doors lock/unlock fine with the lock switches or by turning the key in the passenger door lock cylinder. The passenger door lock has to be manually locked/unlocked by sliding the lock or by turning the key cylinder. When it first started happening, it would work intermittently and then about a year ago it just quit working all together. I'm ready to get it fixed but I don't want to take it to the dealership. My problem is, I can't get inside the door far enough to see what I'm doing. I can take off the door lining and the white weather seal but that still doesn't give me enough room to work. I have already disconnected the connector from the door switch to the actuator to inspect the pins and found no problems. The problem persisted after attaching the connector. I don't have a meter or the wiring diagram for the door locks so I have not checked for power to the actuator yet. If someone has dealt with this issue before, please feel free to pass along some advise. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could provide me with the door locks wiring diagram and even better if there are instruction on how to access the inside of the door as to possibly replace the lock actuator.

Thanks,

Pablo

Hey Pablo,

You sound like an audiophile. Have you considered the possibility that something went wrong during the instillation of all that audio gear?

Anyway, I have the info you require to get to work on your problem, too big to post here. I will try to contact you via email and send it to you.

cheers,

Pete

My audio components have been installed for over 6 years and I've had this problem for just over 1 year. I thought maybe the dynamat might have had something to do with it but I double checked everything and couldn't find anything obvious. Thanks for the scans, I can't wait to get them so I can get to work.

Had a similar problem on my wifes 2005 CRV last summer while on vacation. Drivers door would not work with keyfob, had to manually lock/unlock with the key. This may be the same issue you are having. There are videos on youtube on how to do it.

I called the local dealer, Hyannis Honda, and they had 3 in stock. The parts guy said if he had a dollar for every one of those he sold he would be a rich man. And it is a very small dealer.

Took me about 45 minutes, only needed a phillips head and 8mm socket I believe. Part was about $45. Problem is probably in the actuator. It is an awful big unit that only moves the little flipper, which seems like it would be easy to break. The issue is probably somewhere inside the actuator.
