Default transfer case

Just called 2 different dealers to get prices on VTM and ATF fluids (OUCH!$$)
$28.30 for VTM4
$7.24/qrt for ATF

Asked about the transfer case and both places said they do not touch them. Their shop only drains/fills the tranny and rear diff. He would not tell me what fluid the transfer case uses or anything.
Very interesting.

So - do you change the transfer case oil or leave it alone?
If changing, what fluid?

2007 Pilot with 63k miles.

I've never looked at the set up in detail, but suspect it shares fluid with the auto box

Check eBay for the fluids - it's been a few months, but I remember getting the fluids for about this price overall, but the sellers threw-in some other Honda fluids (brake, P/S) as well as an oil filter.

I agree, no transfer case, just trans and diff.

IIRC the 06-08 actually do have a transfer case, unlike 03-05. It uses the 75w-90 or 80w-90 flavor.

Us 05 owners are getting so out of date.

Funny how the parts/service guys said it does not have it and they do not have it listed as a serviceable item! Nothing is mentioned in the owners manual - does anyone have a service manual for the transfer case?
I asked about the different tranny fluids as someone had mentioned here - they only carried the 'older' fluid and not the newer fluids for the 2010 models! Love how no one has the same answer!
So now the question - how often should one change out the transfer case - if at all?

Page 235 of the owners manual (241 in the PDF) says do it every 30K under extreme conditions. https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/.../ATW0707OM.pdf I think for most people 50K-60K is plenty early. I did mine at 75K and it looked and smelled new.
