I do many things DIY. But I don't want to do the timing belt and water pump on my wife's 2006 EX-L. I have done brake shoes, ATF, etc.
What else would you have done? I am thinking: 1. timing belt 2. water pump 3. drive belt(s) 4. radiator hoses The manual seems to say spark plugs are due. Easy to do at home? Or have the mechanic do it? Any cost estimates on the TB/WP service?

If you pay someone, $1400 for everything.
I'm actually thinking of trading as tires are coming up for replacement as well......

$750 to 800 for the TB/WP which includes your other belts and coolant change. There are some threads on the plugs. Dealer will charge about $200 for new plugs installed. There is a DIY thread on the TB/WP, but its still a complicated procedure. Brakes are about as comlplex a job as I would want to do.

Rocky,
What kind of tires do you run? I get an average of 86,000 miles on Michellin Cross Terrains from Costco (with pretty much ignored care) on my 03 Pilot. It is in today at 219,000 miles getting a timing belt. |

I used to have an Acura MDX and I brought it in to the dealer with about 140k on it for maintenance and left with an $1100 bill. They flushed the tranny, radiator, replaced the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and wires IIRC. I can't think of anything else that was done..
