To install/uninstall the serpentine belt I turned my wrench counter clockwise on the tensioner pulley bolt. Now I need to remove the tensioner pulley and the bolt is giving me fits. I have been trying to turn the bolt clockwise. Is this correct?

Mine does and has been doing it for a couple of years now. I don't remember, but I'm "pretty" sure it is normal lefty loosey. But wait.... the bolt on my '04 hit the body of the car before it backed out of the pulley! I got ready to replace the pulley, slipped the serpentine belt off and went to work backing out the pulley bolt. Never got it out far enough to clear the frame. I've asked here before, it's not that members don't want to help, just seems like no one has replaced the pulley before so I'm stuck and no answers here. Welcome to piloteers.org, let us know if you get it off please... I really need to replace my squealing pulley. Maybe remove a motor mount, jack up the engine a bit to clear the frame?
