Unhappy Break light blinking on the dash board

Gents,
The break light on the dash board of my 2003HP with 66,101miles consistently blinking whenever i'm driving after my hand break have been disengaged.

These are the things i did; i opened my hood and check my break fluid reservoir and i noticed that it's at the minimum level. I also identified that my rear break shoe pad is down.

Here are my questions which i need a proffesional advise or whoever might have experience this problem to help me out:

1) Can these two things i identified could be the causes of blinking of this break light on my dash board?

2) If i replaced both my front and rear break pads also, top up the break fuild to the level between the minimum and maximum and could this solve my problem?

Awaiting you guys professional advice or the action i should take to solve this problem.

Thank you for your consistence deliverable advice from this forum.

Rgds,
'Fred

Fred: if your rear pads need replacing, start by replacing them.

Once replaced, top up the brake fluid. The fluid is sloshing around and triggering the low level sensor. Heck, if you don't want to replace the pads, top up the fluid level. That will take care of the light, unless the sensor is faulty.

IMHO, genuine parts only on brakes and always on fluids.

Replacing the worn pads will push brake fluid back into the reservoir and bring the level up. While the brakes are being worked on, it may be time to replace the brake fluid anyway. (has it been 3 years since it was last done?) Once these are completed and the brake fluid level is where it should be, the light should be extinguished.

If it's not, make sure the parking brake is fully released. Set the brake and see if the light comes on steady. If it does, release the parking brake all the way and it should go out. If not, perhaps the switch for the parking brake has come unplugged or gone bad.

Rocky & Jarizzo,
I realy appreciate you guys for your contribution.

About a week ago i replaced front and back of my Honda Pilot break pads and a day before that day i replaced the pads i top up the fluid which later over flow when i was replacing the pads.

My learning points concerning this issue are:
1) Assuming i replaced the break pads before i top up the fluid definately, there wouldn't be any over flowing of fluid from the resevoir.
2) Regular inspection of the break pads wouldn't cause the fuild to get to the level of the sensor sending the signal to the dash board.

However, every thing is ok about my HP and it move very well without any unexpected light from my dash board again.

Once again thank you very much guys.

Rgds,
'Fred
