Question Struts - spring question

So 9 hours later, I got the struts done.

These spring compressors they sell at autozone are meant for weenie struts, not for monsters like the pilot. Anyway, I digress...

I just noticed that the washer at the top of the strut on one side is flipped. It should have the curved side up, not down.

The strut is in the car, so my question is:

Can I jack the opposite side of the car, use the pilot's weight to compress the spring enough to flip the washer at the top without taking the strut out?

Anyone done this?

Thanks.

I wouldn't do anything, it is only a washer and should not harm it. but if you cannot stand it cosmetically, you don't have to compress it, just loosen and take out the nut and flip the washer.

Just so I was clear..

This is the main "cap" washer - the one that holds the top of the strut piston and sits on the rubber bushing. Not one of the three that holds the strut in.

Do you still think it's still OK to pull that one?

Thanks,
John

Don't have an answer to your question but I think when my struts go I'll leave the replacements to the professionals. Haha - nothing like losing an eye (or head) if that thing decompresses on you.
