My 2010 Pilot (4WD) is at 3000 miles and maintenance minder says oil life is 60%. I just got one of those automated emails from the dealership telling me that 3 months has elapsed since the time of my purchase and that I should schedule a service.
Do I go with the maintenance minder or the traditional 3k mile oil change. Since this would be this vehicle's first oil change, I'm not sure what to do. Help/advise is appreciated. |

Definitely follow the MM, but keep an eye on your oil level. Some have noted a quart of oil use per 2K/2.5K miles. My new 2010 EX-L 4WD used a little over 2 quarts during its first 6500 miles. Just changed it to full synthetic and hopefully it is now broken in and will not use as much.

With regards to this you should be popping the hood and checking the fluids every 2-4 weeks. I never had a low oil problem but I just like to keep an eye on everything. And ofcourse I stock a quart or two of the oil I use.
