Just ordered 3 cabin air filters for the Pilot and 3 for my neighbor's Chevy Impala.

6 filters with shipping to Houston came up to $47. My filters were $5.63 each and his were $5.81 each. Shipping was $2.12 per filter.

We'll see early next week what my $7.75 gets me. Will it compare to OEM or Autozone/O'Reilly stuff that I usually buy for $30 each? We'll see.....

Local prices for the caf hovered around $30. Ordered 4 of em for about $22 total. They came in promptly via USPS and are the exact same filters that I've been replacing for the last 4 years. Great quality, at least for my Vibe.

Filters are about $5.39 each and the shipping makes multiple filter purchases even more economical.

For instance, 2 filters to Houston Texas are $19 total.
5 filters are $39 to Houston. That makes them about $8 each.

I'm in no way associated with these guys, just want to pass along a tip to help save a fellow Piloteer some money. Again, the 4 filters that I got for my wife's Pontiac Vibe are exactly the same filter in the boxes at Autozone, Advance, O'reilly, etc... Fit and finish are perfect.

Nice find. I just ordered 2 for my 04 EXL. Thanks!

Please post your comparison.
How many miles since you changed cabin filter. Mine is close to 13k now and I have not changed yet. I am planning to do with the next oil change, probably in May.

Can someone post up a picture of these filters once you get them.

Wonder how much better they will be compared to the $16.50 ones I got at pep boys.

Will do when they arrive.

I'll go to autozone or pepboys and snap a pic of theirs and what I receive from the online purchase....... a side by side.

Well, here the new one is.... bought 3 for $23.50 to the door. total bill was $47 because my neighbor bought 3 for his 2003 Chevy Impala. Both filters were about $5.50 each and we split the bill down the middle, $23.50 each. The shipping was about $14 to Houston, Tx.

This is from another piloteers.org thread from a while back... pretty sure the new one is OEM in this pic, the old, dirty one is OEM for sure!

The new filter feels like a quality piece, the pleats are clean and crisp. the plastic frame feels solid too. Overall, I'm very pleased to get em for under $8 bucks each.

Not sure if I'm recalling this correctly, but isn't the OEM impregnated with charcoal to absorb odors?

Not sure myself either, but it does appear that Autozone and Advance are selling a drop in caf that isn't grey, just plain white. That's what I've been using each year. I'll give the local Honda dealer a visit today ( I need just a small touch up paint bottle ) and get a look & price of the factory caf.

On a side note, I went to my favorite paintless dent removal guy on Wednesday and had about 6 hardly noticeable dings pushed out of the Pilot. I have to admit, my Honda looks mint because of my roughly every couple of year visit to the ding guy to have 'em removed. There isn't 1 ding on the entire car except for the top ( which you can't see anyway ). My stupid pine trees drop some heavy pine cones on the Pilot which have given me some very small dings on the top.

Some ahole shot my Pilot with a bb gun about a year and a half ago and did put a big hole in the rear passenger door, right by the door handle. It was deep and of course broke the paint. My dent guy pushed it out as far as he could and said now it was up to a body shop to repaint or whatever. In the meantime, I should fill the pencil eraser sized hole with Honda paint.

How's that for jacking my own thread?

But anyway, I'll let you guys know what Honda is selling for cabin air filters later today.

Haha, funny! Anyhoo, I bought a cabin filter from Tim (hondacuraworld) a couple years back and the filter was element was white and not the charcoal color like I stated earlier. Maybe the ones from the factory are the darker color while the ones from the dealer are white? Why would that be?

How many miles do I have to change the filter?

Jestmaty, for the scratch, do you just put some touch up paint on it? Do you have to smooth it out? I did once on my wife accord years ago when the car was new, but some paint on and that was it. Was not happy with the result. Two weeks ago I was in hurry pulled the PL out of my garage while it was opening at the same. As a result, it made a foot long scratch on top of PL.

I'll take a pic of the pencil sized hole on Sunday. It was definately a bb and happened in Sept 2008. I just stuck a refridgerator magnet over the spot to keep rust or whatever out. Well, as I stated above, I finally had my pdr ( paintless dent removal ) guy push it out as far as flush as he could.

There is still a pencil eraser sized hole with no paint. Of course, I won't be happy until a body work specialist gives me a quote to fix it right. I didn't make it by the local Honda dealer before closing, so the touch up will have to wait until Monday.

The spot will be semi-jagged and messy until I get around to seeing the body work guy that was recommended by my pdr guy. I'm told that the area will have to be sanded, prepped, and repainted and then feathered & clearcoated. Sounds like a recipe for a mismatch coming down the pipe.

FWIW, I have a really, really nice 19 yr old Nissan 240SX that is having some pretty severe paint issues only on the front plastic bumper. The roof, hood, sides and rear of the car have beautiful paint for being so old. I bought 2 containers of OEM paint and just use the enclosed brush to fill in the flaking areas that have black showing through. It is one of those "looks good for 50/50... going by at 50 mph and 50 feet away " paint touch-ups. You'll never be happy unless someone who knows what they're doing does the repair.

For your issue, I would try to wax as much of the transferred paint off before I did anything else. Also, see if you can find a pdr person in your area. They usually work closely with someone who can do minor stuff like your scratch sounds like and they do excellent work, especially if you're paying cash. These colleagues of the pdr guys usually charge way, way less than regular body shop folks. I found a couple of years ago that I must have turned my camper too sharply when backing up one time and pinched the trailer and the rear bumper. Took a good sized gouge out of the driver's side rear bumper. One of my pdr guy's friends filled, sanded, and painted/clear coated in about 45 minutes. For about $40 bucks. The job was flawless and has continued to wear just like the original paint.

When I found my most recent ding on my Pilot, there was transferred paint as well from the idiot who hit me with their car door. First thing I did was aggressively wax the area to remove all 'their' paint off and see just how bad the actual ding was.

To most people, it would have taken some time to even find the ding. But, to my OCD self, it was the first thing I saw every time I walked up to my Pilot. I keep my cars for a long, long time and part of the "non-desire" for a new car is that mine looks like it came off the showroom floor. Still brand new to me....
