Normal procedure is to put the vehicle 25ft away from a wall with the lights shining on it. Then you have to compare the beams pattern on the wall.
Driver side should be lower than passenger side. There is a place on each headlight, usually at the top inside the engine comparment where you can put a large phillips in and turn to raise or lower the assembly.

I just adjusted mine a few weeks ago.
A socket will do the job.(sorry,don't remember what size was it.) Passenger side is a piece of cake,no biggie. But for driver's side,u may need to remove the electrical connector & rubber weather seal to gain a little more room if u need to adjust the light Up or down.
