Servicing is determined by the maintenance minder on 06 and later models. This examines the usage that the vehicle experiences and recommends services as necessary. There is no fixed service interval as on earlier models.
If they have already changed the oil, it should look fresh. Does it?

i already press the reset/select button. and it says that the oil is 90%, what should i do? do i need to go to the dealer when the mileage is already 60,000 to have the service maintenance? or do i need to wait for the oil to be 15%? because as far as i know 60,000 is one of the major services,
sorry guys because this is my first time to have a honda vehicle..

At 60K miles, I would also be concerned with the tranny, VTM-4 (if you have AWD) and brake fluid. There's also the air filter and cabin filter to check. If the above items have never been changed or the dealer cannot provide you records of previous maintenance, I would have the appropriate service done.

First off pull out the dipstick and check the color of the oil. Now personally I've only used synthetics but I believe conventional are more or less the same color. You should see a pancake syrup type of color since it is so fresh. It should look more like thicker black coffee towards later on.
As for service intervals, your car is built with a maintenance minder program/option/..call it what you want. It starts at 100% and as you drive the car will calculate how much of oil life you have. Right now you are at 90% so you used up about 10%. WHEN you reach 15% which should be in about 6-8k miles a wrench light will come on and the cluster will flash a code. That code represents what you need to do in this current sevice. For instance on my last one at 40k it said A1. Which was change engine oil and rotate tires. But I personally think regardless of what comes up always change oil and filter. Don't be a cheapass and try to save $6 on a filter. These codes are in you car manual. Beyond all this if the dealer can't tell you what other fluids were changed (and or filter) demand he changes VTM-4, differential, engine oil, tranny fluid and both filters before you buy the car. As stated it's best to know what's done to your car and chances are you'd be fine either way but why take a chance. (I can't believe I typed all that) |

Go back to dealer for next maintenance, by inputing your VIN they should have record of whatever were done to your Pilot in the computer. Ask if you can get a printout of it, then you can do future maintenace accordingly.
