Default Concerned about engine light: MISFIRE

Need some advice. I'm experiencing the same misfiring issues with my Pilot and runaround with the dealership.

Last year, our 2006 Pilot lost all power and the engine malfunction light came on. It had to be towed to the Honda dealership. They had never seen this misfiring issue before they said. So they spoke with Honda tech support. To help them along, we researched the issue, printed and provided all the information we could find on the problem. They replaced the rocker arms and spark plugs. We were not confident in this solution and expressed our desire for them to dig deeper and use owner's experience as a guide since this issue was so new to them. They held firm to their fix. Reluctantly, we took the Pilot back but wanted to keep a paper trail of the problem.

This pass week the same engine malfunction light has come on and the codes said that it was misfiring (codes P0300-P0300) again. They called tech support and all they did was give it a valve adjustment. They did not replace the fuel injectors, nor did they replace the EGR valve. I was very unhappy about this fix.

The Honda service advisor, Bob, did little to help, therefore we called America Honda and they didn't help either. They felt that the valve adjustment was all it needed.

I am concerned that my wife and young boy may, at any time, breakdown on the Los Angeles 405 freeway or along the desert because of this issue. The family vehicle which we purchased new based on the brand's safety and reliability factor, does offer us the same piece of mind anymore.

Can anyone confirm a viable solution to this issue? Was the valve adjustment the right thing to have fixed? It feels like a patch job to a bigger, more expensive issue.

Thanks
