If your Pilot doesn't have a filler bolt, use a larger diameter rubber hose from Homedepot that goes around the dipstick filler (use a clamp so it doesn't leak) and the other end of your larger diameter hose will fit most funnels. your refill will also go much quicker than with a super skinny funnel.
There is nothing wrong with the drain and fill procedure, but why not go for the complete flush that takes less visits under the car and gets more old fluid out all at once? See DIY flush via the ATF return line per my other post. There is another poster with steps-by-step that inspired me to follow his lead, but for most people, locating the return hose seems to be their biggest challenge. It is really easy... I have already done this on two different cars I own. Take off the rubber shield below the bumper by removing the pop-out plastic pins, then look down from the top of the radiator/driver side and at the bottom corner you will find two black rubber hoses connected to the radiator. The one that has a longer metal connector is the ATF return. Pull off that rubber hose while laying on your back below the car, connected it to a clear rubber hose from the hardware store or aquarium store and you are ready to flush the ATF. Cycle the engine On and Off will get the ATF to pump out of that return hose. If you pulled the wrong hose, oil will not pump out. After you drain 2-3 quarts, immediately fill 2-3 quarts. After 4 cycles/ 12 quarts/ 30 minutes you are done. My Mobile 1 ATF new formula still shifts buttery smooth after a thousand miles, it shifts better than when the car was new with z1. Good luck. |

I bought a turkey baster at Walmart that had a tip that fits perfectly into the dipstick tube.
I pulled the rubber bulb off of the turkey baster and put my "regular" transmission funnel into the top of the baster and the tip of the baster into the dip stick tube. Both ends are a snug fit with no leakage at all.

Boy, y'all sure go to a lot of trouble to fill using the dipstick tube when it takes 20 seconds to either remove the official filler bolt or the oil jet thingy in the filler hole, for mine. You can put a regular ol' funnel in it.
