Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on a gas additive called RXP.
Now, I'm not a believer in gas additives. I think they're generally snake oil. The only gas additives on which I've had any opinion other than "forget it" were "Techron" which came in a black bottle, maybe 12 oz., and RXP. RXP is sold at Autozone and Kwik Car here in Dallas and it's kind of expensive ($5 - $7). You only get like 2 oz which treats 20 gallons I believe. Techron was just ok, however, RXP is the best stuff I've ever put in my tank. I'm very careful about the placebo effect of believing, feeling, or thinking that your car is running better because you put something in it. But RXP works. It really does improve the "pep" and the car responds better, and gets better mileage. It improves combustion and the car drives more like it did when it was younger. It worked well in my lawn equipment also (just a capful). I know people for whom it has got them through an emissions test. It also comes highly recommended by an auto authority whom I deeply respect named Ed Wallace. Ed has been dead-on with every recommendation I've ever heard from him. Anyway, I'm not associated with anything I've mentioned here, but I wondered if anyone has any opinions on or uses RXP. I haven't put any in my Pilot as of yet, but I ran it regularly (once per oil change) in my 96 Camaro and it make a great difference. -Dan
