Default Power Window issue after battery change

We drove my wife's 2006 Pilot off the lot brand new in May 2006. Yesterday her battery failed without warning. There was no low battery warning lamp, the battery just died for reasons unknown. My father in-law was able to jump start the engine after performing all of the troubleshooting steps listed in the owner's manual. With her father following, my wife then drove directly to Sam's Club and had the battery replaced. The service technician installed the new battery in the parking lot and my wife reentered the code for the radio. All is well except for one issue. The drivers side window used to travel fully down, and I believe up as well, with one push of the button. After the battery was replaced, the button has to be pressed the entire time the drivers side window travels.

Is there some method to return this function back to the one press setting? Has this switch failed for some reason? Also, it seems odd that this battery failed after approximately 2.5 years without warning. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Batteries will fail quicker in extreme heat or cold. You still should have been under factory warranty and could have gone back to the dealer and replaced the battery for free. As for the auto up/down feature, it resets after the battery has been unhooked or drained. There's a section in the owner's manual which explains how to fix that.

Push the window button down, and then push the button up and hold the button for up position for a few seconds after it reaches the top. Then try it again. It should go back to 1 press mode up and down.
