I've noticed a low high pitched squeal type sound when I first start up the Pilot drive for the first few miles.
I notice it's stronger going up hill. I saw a mention of a cold start whistle, but not follow up or explanation. Any ideas? Mike |

If it is indeed coming from the belt, I would look at the tensioner. The most likely source of drag on cold start on the belts is the power steering pump, the alternator would be second. If the belt isn't tight enough, it'll squeal on the device with the greatest drag.
