Default Don't be afraid to tackle your Timing Belt yourself.

I did my timing belt last weekend. It took the majority of my Saturday starting around 9:30am and breaking for lunch and just taking my time. I would not hesitate to do it again. Keep in mind, you will need the special crank tool. That bird is tight!! Ended up putting a little heat (small propane torch) to the end of the crank bolt. She gave after that. Other than that and me turning the drain plug on the radiator out a little to far, which caused me to make a mess, everything went very well.

Both timing belt and water pump looked good.

I will admit, I wanted to do a DIY for everyone but I started into things and just didn't want to stop. I had the factory manual which I would recommend getting or just look on here for the steps. Feel free to shoot me any questions you have.

Props to Tim our site sponser. He supplied me all my parts.

Again, I have the crank tool, so if you're interested in purchasing it, check the classifieds on here, or let me know. I plan to put on Ebay this week.

Oh one more thing. You WILL be sore for a few days.

Check here for the procedure that I followed when replacing the timing belt/water pump & tensioner.
