Or he could have converted it, or bought a US Pilot.

Used vehicles are a lot cheaper in the US. In the last few years this has been a growing trend as the wimpy Canadian Loonie has been catching up to the US greenback.

Yes Miles, sorry to confuse you folks down south, but I thought I would jump from the Metric 327,000 km to your miles, which in fact is 203 K miles (I did the other in my head and came up a little short).

This has not been a journey without issues. In fact I have two, 2003 pilots and have had to replace the rear wheeling bearing twice in one and once (other has 178 K km, but will let my American friends figure that out).

The transmission on the high km one slips in 2nd and 3rd gear and we have had issues from the beginning with it.

Engine is fine hoping to get at least 400K km out of this pilot.

The younger pilot in fact has a flashing VTM light that when we run the diag on it, we get nothing, have read a bit on the causes, not sure if its worth getting fixed as it sounds like a big job.

If the VTM4 fluid has been changed as recommended, I'd suspect a faulty sensor rather than anything bad. Like you, I'd probably not worry about it.

132K and running strong.. Other than the IAC which comes up every now and then (I just need to get around to replacing it) and now the A/C (probably need to recharge) I love my Pilot.

Best if luck! If all the required maintenance has been done, you should get to 200,000 miles without any major problems. At 110,000 you should have already had the timing belt changed (105,000), spark plugs, etc. If not, you should get these done before too long.

Default Major Services Done

It has the major services done. All done at 107,000 so I should be good to go. Looks like at 120,000 I need to change the rear differential fluid, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

To be specific it will need the VTM fluid changed, its "technically" not differential fluid.

105K and counting... just did front pads a while back, cabin filter, atf, spark plugs.

Have to get the timing belt done and I'll change out brake fluid next time so I could probably look into doing pads/rotors for all wheels. Almost all highway during non-peak hours driving which is why my brakes/rotors have lasted so long.

I THINK my pilot is actually doing ok with regards to driveability and how it feels accelerating/decelerating/braking. Do you guys think I should have the full timing belt package done or just the timing belt change by itself? Of course those pulley/tensioner things if they need them but IDK about the other stuff (water pump, drive belts, etc)...like I said, how much hard work did my pilot go thru with almost negligible congested traffic life? I'm swaying towards just the timing belt and coolant change probably.

Your thoughts please...AND you guys rock!!!

Our 2005 is going on 115K mostly hwy mileage. Had the TB, WP, and belts done at 105K. The wear and tear on those components is not only mileage related but time related - seals wear, rubber ages, etc. The water pump probably won't last until your next timing belt change. However, if you are getting rid of it soon, then maybe it doesn't matter. But if your water pump goes, it is about the same labor cost as the TB to replace, so most do the WP with the TB.

I would change them all while you are there. My driving is mostly highway as well, and you can feel the difference between the old belts and new. The old timing belt looked perfect, but it was not as flexible as the new one. Tensioner had a small leak in it as well. Besides, it will always be on your mind if you don't change them out.
