Default 07 Pilot Tire Pressure

I have the manufacture's tires on my 07 Pilot. They look a little flat for me. Does any body know what is the recommendation pressure?

"Look flat" is a meaningless measurement. A tire can look flat and be fine, or look fine but be underinflated. The only way to know for sure is with a quality tire pressure gauge (not the 99 cent one from the can at Pep Boys.)

In my '06, tire pressure is 32 PSI. The TPMS warns at 26 PSI.

you can find the recommended tire pressure in the pilot owner's manual. it should be listed on the very last page, along with other maintenance information. last time i checked, it was 32PSI.

ctobio, where would i find a "quality" tire pressure gauge? i bought one from a chevron gas station for around $2 and it seems accurate, but i'd rather pay a little more for a true PSI reading.

I have a Milton pencil tire pressure gauge that I've sworn by for years. It seems to agree with my dial gauge on my compressor as well, and the numbers it gets are consistent and repeatable. It's a sturdy gauge, with an all metal housing. I've actually seen plastic tire pressure gauges (I once got one free with some random tool set I bought).

What type of tire is on your '07? Goodyear Integrity? I think Honda recommends 32psi, but the maximum recommended from Goodyear is 44psi if memory serves. I keep mine @ 38psi. The ride is slightly stiffer but MPG is slightly better. It all depends on your own preference.

Also, every vehicle manufactured in the last I don't know how many years has a sticker in the door jamb of the driver's door. The sticker lists the manufacturers recommended tire size and cold tire pressure for front tires, rear tires, and compact spare.

If you don't have OEM tires, at a minimum the max psi is always stated on the side of the tire.

In all but the rarest situations (SEVERE loading) I would never go as high as the sidewall max pressure on a tire.

There is a HUGE thread about this somewhere (if you are bored and want to hear 50 various rationales for various tire pressures).

Try a search.

Thanks for pointing that out. My point was even if you didn't have any other documentation, you would know what the max was.

The door jamb pressires are recommended for the tire type and pressure by Honda as providing the best ride/handling compromise.

The pressure on the tire is the MAX you should ever inflate the tire too.

If you have higher than Honda recommended pressures the steering will feel lighter than normal, while the ride gets harsher.

If you have lower pressures than normal, you'll have heavier steering, poorer mpg and sloppier handling, as well as some very annoyed TPMS sensors
