Default Dealer issue... am I crazy?

Here's the story... Brought my 6mnth old '07 back to the dealer for B1 service.

When they rotated tires they removed the stainless steel TP indicator caps (with the green/yellow/red indicators) and threw them away...said they were seized on!? They replaced them with the standard black plastic tops – yuck!

Rub is, they never said anything to me or wrote anything on the work-order/receipt.

I noticed it next day and called the service manager... who explained what happened. I said, okay give me a new set, she said she'd have to have my service advisor (guy I dealt with) call me...This is now gettiing just stupid...

A week later nobody's called!

I could just buy the replacements, can't cost more than a few $$'s each, but it's the principle of the thing. I don't want to deal with a dealer who a) doesn't tell me what they did and B) doesn't deal with issues right away.

There's another dealer about 15 minutes further away. Maybe I'll try them?

Am I crazy?

That is pretty rude of them to not consult you regarding that small action. A 'no call back' gets no more chances from me... in any dealings.

How unfortunate that they will A: Probably lose your business from here on out. and B: The apparent lack of communication between the service manager and an 'advisor' will probably cause you to defect.

Last time I checked the 'manager' had to ok to make decisions for $15 worth of TP caps, not the advisor....

At the very least, they need to replace the black caps. The stock caps are silver and match the silver TPMS valve stems. Even if they baulk at replacing your pressure indicating caps, they need to replace the black with silver.

By the way, was this the same Dealer that sold you the Pilot and felt it was necessary to overcharge you for the pressure indicating caps in the first place?

The Slver TP caps came standard... that's why I want 'em back. If they were part of the purchased vehicle they shouldn't be taking them off and replacing them. Least they could have done was to give 'em back to me...even if they were seized on... which I find strange.

I agree completely. And they got them off, so they should go back on!

On this board, we consider all caps as shouting. It makes posts hard to read, and is something we just don't do. By the way, the previous poster is a board moderator. We're a friendly crowd, but you need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and get off on a better foot. GOT IT?

Every post you have submitted since joining has been in ALL CAPS. This is considered rude on this board.

If it did not have to be said, you would not still be using caps now.

I will not remind you again. GOT IT?

Thanks.

Yeah, it's considered shouting and rude most places.

But this comment almost made the whole exchange worthwhile.
