Default Side-View mirror part

someone drove by and hit my mirror yesterday

i got the replacement glass thanks to the parts manual posted here but when i tried to attach the mirror to the actuator it noticed that teh clips on this peice are damaged.

i do not want to buy a complete acctuator assembly as that would cost around $100 so i was hoping someone have help me pin down the part number of this peice

it goes in between the mirror and the actuator and connects the two

From review of the drawing, its appears you have to buy the actuator assy (Pc 3 or 5, depending on right or left). You did not say what year and model you have, but I have had pretty good luck finding parts on Majestic Honda (Rhode Island) link listed here:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...artsSearch.jsp

For mine, 05 EXL w/ Heated mirrors, the actuator assy lists for about $41 plus shipping.

so i got a new actuator and put it in the mirror asembly, but the wire colors were different when comparing the new actuator to the old one so i had to test which combination of wires moved the mirror in each direction.

during this process i believe i crossed 2 wires and shorted something, and after that both the driver and passenger side mirro wouldn't work.

got honda to print me out some circuit diagrams fearing something bad may have happened.
checked fuses and made sure teh mirrors worked from jumping a few connections for the driver side mirror controller switch. i seem to have fried that (i hope so, dont wanna pay someone to find out if something else is wrong )

so tomorow i will go and order a new switch but im having a bit of trouble removing the switch from the trim, i can get out one side but but when i try to push out the other, the trim just flexes.

i dont want to break it so i hope someone can tell me the proper procedure to remove it

Default Replacing side mirror switch

Hello, I see we had the same problem. Replaced side mirror and shorted out the switch. Jut got a new switch, how can I be sure not to short this one out too? Did yours work when you replaced the switch? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

How did you get the circular backing to the mirror off?
