Default Has anyone tried Helm's online repair manual??

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Helminc.com's online pilot repair manual service? I'm curious about it.

Any feedback on your experience, etc would be appreciated. Here is a link: http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.a...R4R2A8512278BF

Thanks,

GregC

Never tried it, but by looking at the pricing, its probably worth just buying the manual. If you only need to look up something once, then the three day subscription would save you some money, but you could just ask someone with a manual to scan and post some pages if your looking for something specific.

It is a excellent "factory" manual.
As such it assumes you have professional training and access to the proper tools.

I find the Haynes to be very good "Owner/Mechanic" manuals, as they assume only basic automotive knowledge and standard tools (often giving workarounds for specialty tools).

Both is REALLY good!

I have to agree that it's probably cheaper to own the manual.

Here's one on ebay:

They're $75 brand new from helminc.com. Well worth it.

I noticed that you and the ebay seller are from Fremont. Are you the one selling that manual ?

As for shipping and tax, the tax is a given here in CA but as I recall, shipping wasn't too bad considering the size and weight of the manual.

That ebay one is $5.00 higher than retail and still adds $9.00 for shipping. I'd guess that would be close to the price to buy it brand new straight from Helm!

But one thing we all do agree on, the service manual is LOADED with useful information! Well worth the price, IMHO .

Later,
Larry.

Here's the full cost for a brand new shrink wrapped manual straight fom Helm to a Fremont address. It's about a buck lower than the used one from an unknown source.
