Default Differential Drain Bolt TIGHT!!

I got the fill bolt broke loose but I cannot get the drain bolt loose. I think I'm going to go get a 1/2" to 3/8" adaptor for my 1/2" ratchet and try to break it loose. I'm afraid I'm going to break my 3/8" extension.

I am using a breaker bar also.

Any tips to breaking it loose? What combination do you think would be the strongest? 3/8" ratchet attached directly to the bolt? 3/8" Ratchet with extension (method I tried) attached to bolt, or my 1/2" ratchet with a 1/2 to 3/8 extention?

Spray it down with PB Blaster a few times during the day and then let it soak. Or you can try to tighten it a little, that usually gets it loose enough to loosen it.

I used liquid Wrench, and it helped to let it loosen up for about 15 min then hit it again and with the breaker bar is should come off, but some people have really had a hard time getting that bolt off.

Got it loose. I bought a 1/2 to 3/8" adaptor for my 1/2" ratchet. That gave me the torque I needed to break loose.

Thanks to all who replied.

I have found everything real easy to work on so far on this vehicle. Very impressed!! Now I just need to learn the easiest way to drain and fill transmission fluid. From what I've read on here so far, it sounds like everything else.

Good for you then.. I was gonna suggest to use some lubricant to loosen up the tight grip of the bolt...

Mine was tight as heck as well. I used my MAPP gas torch to heat up the diff a little bit and it came out with only moderate pressure then.

Heat gun, PB-Blaster, heat gun again, PB-Blaster again, tap on the bolt, then have at it. And patience.
