Question Question about tire pressure sensor when getting new tires

The Pilot is the first vehicle I have owned that uses tire pressure sensors. Looking in the service manual for my 2006 Pilot, replacing tires with this type of sensor is not a job for the local tire shop. How have those of you who have had a tire, or tires, replaced handled it? Does the dealer need to be used?

Other than having to be a little more careful removing the old tire and putting the new one on, I don't think there's anything special about getting new tires. The local tire shop I go to told me that they would not have any problem with the TPMS valve when I wanted to replace my tires.

The only precaution is not damaging the sensor with the tools when installing or removing the tire from the wheel. just keep the tools away from the valve area.

The other is inflating the tires above the low pressure threshold.
