Default Advice on maintenance items

I'm selling my Pilot to a family member who is a little strapped for cash and want to ensure they get fully refreshed SUV. I'm downsizing to a CR-V.

I have a MY04 with 52K. No extreme driving, just alot of highway miles from a regular commute to work. Aside from regular oil changes, the vehicle has not had any regular/preventative maintenance done to it. It has not had any mechanical issues.

I will be doing some of the work and some will be done by a trusted local mechanic.

My maintenance list includes:

* change engine air filter
* change cabin air filter
* change engine oil & filter
* change transmission fluid
* change differential fluid
* change wiper blades
* change brake fluid
* brake pad/rotor inspection

Should the coolant be replaced? I'm thinking 'no'

Anything else I should be thinking about changing, inspecting or replacing?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Replace that family member with me!!! He/She has a great benefactor!! I think you have touched upon the important items. Have the coolant inspected, not necessarily changed.

If the coolant has never been changed it's probably almost time. More so than brake fluid, which almost never needs to be changed; maybe just bled and topped off.

Wink advice on maintenance

I just changed the diff and trans fluid. Neither were very difficult, and other posts on the site are quite helpful. I bought a fluid pump to help with the diff fluid and it went a little smoother. I have 30k on my '05 I did the diff fluid at 15k and when I just did it at 30k it was not dirty at all. My trans fluid was dirty, as well as shavings on the magnet. Honda does not recommend the service which sucks all the fluid out or forces it out due to potential damage to the seals. They say to use the 3x3 technique which you basically use 12 quarts and drive it about 6 miles while doing this. I would recommend that if your fluid is a dirty as mine. Honda says that the coolant should be changed at 120mo or 100k, but again I use the extreme maintenance sched. Brake fluid every 3 years no matter the miles. Good luck, your family member is getting a great ride.
