Question how to remove a fender dent

hi,

I have a dent in my driver's side front fender (see photo). I believe it would just pop out if I were able to press from behind. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can get access to the behind? Or if someone have a do-it-yourself idea, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

My son had one of these happen to his civic the other day - kids were horsing around and one got pushed into the car and a huge dent was there. So he went behind it (was rear 1/4 panel) and popped it back out. Problem is, it's only 90% fixed - there's a couple of small ripples there that can't pop back out by hand. I'm going to be selling the car at the end of the summer, so at that point I'm going to hire one of those dent wizard guys to take out the few small ripples that are still in there. Good news is that you will likely not notice it after all is done, and no painting is needed.

I saw this video posted on another car forum. In involves heating the body panel and then rapdily cooling the panel.

Look up the local Dent Wizard in the yellow pages. (the one here is called Dent Doctor). For $100 you'd never know it was there.

I'd be afraid of ruining the panel heating and cooling it...then you'd really be screwed.

I bought one of those "Ding King" sets. This is the type that you glue a piece of plastic onto the dent and screw a wide brace onto the glued-on piece and continue tightening the brace to the glued-on piece. This pulls the dent out until the glue fails. This works okay. It takes many applications to get acceptable results and even after all that, it is only acceptable. It will never look professionally fixed with this method. Perhaps your neighbors may not notice it, but you'll see it everytime because you know where it was dented. Also these type of tools work better actually when the dent is larger. After awhile of glueing and pulling the wavey part just doesn't get any better. If you are just trying to make the dent look less obvious and save some bucks, then this tool may be sufficient. If you don't want to see any evidence of a dent, then get it done professionally.
