Hello all, I'm getting some my Pilot't tires balanced and rotated for free at the dealership. But I was wondering while it was there if I should go ahead and wipe out the oil change too, I've got 30% left on the maintenance minder with about 10100 miles on the odometer. And rather than going back a short time later to get oil changed wanted to wipe it out.
Surely it won't hurt to change the oil early ( with 30% on maintenance minder ) would it? Be easy on me, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to auto maintenance. thanks in advance

Do you fall under the severe or normal category? Usually tires are rotated every 7500 miles as long as tires are properly maintained. Any reason why you're doing them now (besides the free deal) or will this be the first rotation? IMO I would just wait on the oil change. It won't hurt to change it now but why waste the oil when you don't have to.

It won’t hurt by any means, but if you do not let the maintenance reminder show, then you will not know what really needs to be done. On our ’06 4WD, the maintenance minder (MM) indicated the B16 service at around 11K miles. To assume it’s just going to be oil & filter might mean that you miss the VTM-4 fluid change. There is another member who completed their maintenance like this, and they missed the required VTM-4 change.
If/when you go for your next service that includes items in addition to the oil & filter, shop around at other dealers in your area. If prices are lower elsewhere, see if your local one will match it. The VTM-4 service can be quite pricey, and the dealer will charge as much as they can for it too. Also, only do what the manual/maint. minder says to do, NOT THE DEALER'S OWN SERVICE SCHEDULE.
