Default oil filter cross-reference

For those interested, I've compiled a mini list of filters that will fit our Pilots ('03-'07). Keep in mind these are the slightly oversized ones. These are the older style filters that are a bit "fatter" than the current ones. Be aware this is not a complete list and please feel free to add on to this list. Hope it helps anyone doing DIY oil changes. Larger filters = more filtering media = hopefully cleaner oil. Enjoy!

Updated with pics of the "fatter" filter on. Sorry, forgot to shoot a before picture as a comparison. I picked up the Nippon filters (made in Malaysia) at rockauto.com. IIRC, they were $2.73/ea. plus shipping.

Default K & N filter

Hello-

Per their website, the K&N Oil filter for the 2003 pilot is HP-1004. 04 to 07 Pilots use Oil Filter Number HP-1010. Not sure why there is a difference, but that's what the K&N website is specifying.

Updated first post with more filter pics for comparison.

dsm_rally: Napa 1356, is that the OEM size or is that the slightly larger ones?

okii, I think 1010 is the larger filter whereas the 1004 maybe the smaller OEM one. I may need to look into that a bit more.

Default New Amsoil Filter

There is a new Amsoil oil filter for the Pilot. It is EAO13. This new filter is listed as a 25K, one a year filter when used with Amsoil extended drain oils.

The EaO-13 is the smaller filter. The Eao-20 is the larger diameter filter similar to the Nippon filter I posted a pic of above.

How did you find out this would work on the Pilot? I also have a 2006 Accord and bought the same filters as shown on their website. Thx

Actually, I was browsing eBay one night and came across the Nippon filter # and crossed referenced it to the Honda part #. Both of those #s worked on the Pilot and did some more research and came up with the other #'s that were the "larger" filters.

Somebody over on the "Bob Is The Oil Guy" forums has been really busy with a can opener and posted photos comparing the internal construction for many of the filters listed above.
