Default 60,000 mile service

I'm due for the 60k service and decided to call two nearby dealers in NH to see the cost.

dealer 1 - $619.00

dealer 2 - $357.95

Needless to say I was shocked.

I didn't ask what the services consist of because I never imagined there would be this big a difference - I thought they'd be close or identical in price.

Has anyone else had the 60k service - if so do you remember what it cost?

Thanks

If you don't ask what you are getting you will not know.

It does not matter if they are the same price or different.

Tomorrow morning i plan to call and get their lists of what they consider a 60K service.

I'll post the differences (if any)

Default 60k

A 60k service should be:
oil and filter change
drain and replace trans fluid
replace air filter
replace a/c filter
rotate tires
air tires to specs
check brakes
top off fluids
all other visual checks

extras...drain and fill coolant, drain and fill vtm

hondaman2.

Haven't yet looked as far as 60k but with the first tranny service due at 45k seems odd that just 15k later Honda requires another service.

Well, I called and found out the difference

Both do the following:

LOF
Rotate Tires
Check belts brakes etc
Air filter
A/C (cabin) filter
Auto Transmission change
Brake Fluid change

Here's the difference:

The $359.00 doesn't include the VTM4 fluid change (extra $64.70) but does include new wiper blades. Total with VTM4 equals $423.70. Odd that they don't include the VTM4 when the manual recommends it.

The $619.00 includes the VTM4, adds Coolant change, P/S fluid change, new spark plugs, but no wiper blades. Odd because the coolant, P/S, and Spark Plugs aren't part of the 60K service.

I'm thinking I'll save the $$$

Go with what the manual recommends.

Sounds like everything on that list can be done DIY at fraction of the cost. None of them requires major mechanical skill either... Just TLC.
