Canada just purchased off e bay a 2003 high mileage 103k from the US (yes must be mad I know but it was cheep) Wondering if any one has changed the timing belt tensioner etc on there Pilot is it possibility a diy job or not are any special tools required for this Any ideas what a Honda dealer would charge me for this, Is it best to have the water pump changed at the same time?

I had my timing belt replaced last December at a dealer, and I believe the total cost was about $450. This included the usual checks (suspension, brakes, etc) and transmission fluid change. As far as the water pump goes, many people recommend changing it out at the same time. The dealer said mine was fine, and wouldn't swap it under warranty (I was just below 100K) I decided to risk it and leave the water pump for now. The timing belt is a DIY job, but probably one of the more difficult ones. Check out the link below.
