I am not a technical person but I want to save $100+ by installing my own replacement sideview mirror. My wife (honestly) backed into the side of the garage and smashed the sideview mirror and internal electronic parts but not the body. I know how to remove the mirror for the door but I cannot figure out how to remove the motorized part. I have circled the part I am trying to removed in the attached picture. Thanks!

I don't know if this helps, but in this blowup it looks like there's a single screw holding that part on.

He did check that thread out, that's where he got the first pic (see the extra 2 wire connector?) but you don't have to dissassemble the electronics to do the Muth install...so he's looking for just a little bit more info.

I tried to change mine this past weekend. I didn't have the torx tool nor the patience to remove all the connector pins. Brought it to the dealer and they said they could install it for $105.00
It was worth the entertainment value! I watched thru the window as the poor guy that had all the tools wrestled with it for about an hour & 1/2. Even with the text book instructions, all the right tools, I thought the guy was gonna throw it in the garbage ![]() The service manager said that's why normally they just change the mirror rather than rebuild them. Sure I still saved 100 bucks off the cost of a whole new assembly, but if I had to do it over. I would definitely buy the parts outright and have them install it. Looked like a pain in the a**
