Default TPMS in tire rotation, service manual, anyone?

I have just went to a local tire shop to rotate tires (free) but then they found out if my 06 has TPMS, tire rotation needs to reset the TPMS on each tire.

I thought TMPS will automatically re-set to the closest sensor.

Anyone rotate their Pilot with TPMS can confirm this?

Larrys? Does it mentioned in the service manual of a easy way to reset the sensor?

Thanks.

Tell them that that is only on American iron. Honda's are smart enough to know the difference.

I rotated my tires myself a few weeks ago (kinda fun seeing the Pilot with all 4 wheels in the air in my driveway) and there were no issues with the TPMS.

Apply a little anti-seize on the mating surface of the back of the wheel. This will keep the wheels from freezing to the hubs.

that's great to know. thanks. I will take it to the tire shop again and ask them to rotate it again tomorrow. it's free anyway.

Our OEM Bridgestone is non-directional, right? So left front <-> rear right pattern, corrct?

I just had something come to my mind. After you rotate the tire, if you try to lost pressure on on tire (front right), does it display the correct tire that is losing pressure on the dash (front right)? Or does it display the location the tire originally rotated from (rear left)?

It will display the correct tire that has low pressure. The TPMS unit re-syncs itself to the new tire locations.

I got confirmed that TPMS will get updated automatically once you drive over 25mph/40kmh it will re-register itself with new ID.
