I've got a new driver's side door lock actuator.
I've got the door panel off. How do I get the old actuator out? (and I guess the new one in?) I can't figure out how that thing comes loose; it won't budge. Thanks, Duke |

I'm at 44K miles. The warranty is over, unless there is a special lock actuator clause.
I have a 2004, does anyone have an illustration in the service manual that I can see? I have to reach through this opening in the door, and I can't figure out which way to pull the thing. Are there any screws, or is it snap in? |

Remove the lower rear run channel (one 10mm head bolt). Take the rubber out of it first, (just the lower part) then the bolt. Pull down on the metal channel. It slides into the upper channel. Can be difficult to get back in.
Remove the latch assy. with the three phillips. The whole latch assy. has to come out. Once you get it on the bench & figure out how to remove the actuator, there is some clockwork in the latch that has to be put back together correctly. The manual isn't a lot of help. If you're not confident at opening a can of worms, don't try it. But on the other hand... if I can do it so can you. I do not know you or your ability, so it's up to you. Good luck.
