Default car inspection

Who here takes their Pilot to the dealership for an inspection? And how did it work out? I'm not sure where to take mine. I've already ruled out those small, local ones but now I'm choosing between Pep Boys, VIP and the dealership. I am tempted to go to the dealership because my ASSUMPTION is that they have a lot more knowledge about Hondas than an average service center. But I was wondering if anybody knows from experience? What do y'all think?

Sorry, I forget that some people don't know what I mean. I guess it's called a safety inspection. The kind they give you a sticker for if you pass. They check the brakes, the wheels, etc. Has anybody ever had that kinda thing done at a dealership? And did it go well? Based on your experience, is it better to have that done at a privately owned service center or the dealership?

Are the inspection fees in your state fixed by law, or is each station free to charge what they will?

You still didn't say where you live. Here in NY, the annual inspection includes a safety inspection and emissions test on a dynamometer. The fee is fixed @ $37 and, by law beyond the warranty, the car must pass the emissions test for 5 years from date of sale. So, I get it inspected at Honda. Even with the car out of warranty, if it fails emissions, they have to fix it 'til it passes.
