Default rear windshield wipers

has anyone replaced their rear windshield wipers? i went to kragens and auto zone and couldn't find one for the pilot and the way it looks i can't figure out to take the blade out. i was wondering if you have to replace the while arm of the wiper in order to do this. please help.

You can slide the old rubber blade from the wiper assembly. Be careful when replacing because when you pu tthe new blade in, you have to retain the metal strips that were on the old one. If you don't the balde wont wipe correctly. BTW - I believe that you have to buy the blade refil at a dealer. I haven't seen an auto part store yet that carried it.

Refills are the way to go. You should be able to pick up a set of front and one rear wiper refill for under $10 from the dealer.

Are the dealer blades any better or worse than the after market ones?

I buy the Honda refills and find them much quieter and less expensive than all the fancy aftermarket ones. I even wipe them with some 303 to keep them supple and they seem to last a long time

Sorry for my ignorance, what is 303. (Some type of grease or lubricant I assume.)

Default Honda wiper blades...quality of 'em?

I used to buy my blades/refills cheap...then I bought my wife some top-of-the-line Bosch...what a HUGE difference in performance and life. I bought my Pilot used last Feb (2005) from Honda...still using same wiper blades. I therefore conclude that Honda uses a quality rubber about as good as the premium brands.

I just replaced all three wipers with refills. The front two were easy to find. The rear was not. I bought a slight longer one, cut the rubber and salvaged the two metal strips from the existing rear blade. All three about $12 at Advanced Auto

regards.......Paul

If the rear wiper is that difficult to replace, why not buy a new arm assembly with an easier to replace blade? I had a 78 Ford Fairmont that required you buy from the dealer and I simply bought new arms that would accept a standard refill.

LOL. I actually could not figure out how to remove the entire rear arm. Neither could the guy at the parts counter.
