Default 2006 Service Manual availability

Hi everyone,

Those with an '06 who want the service manual (Helm publication number 61S9V03) probably know already that you can order it on-line at http://www.helminc.com for $75 (plus $6.95 handling). I just called Helm (1-800-782-4356) and found out that the "2003 - 2006 Honda Pilot Electrical Troubleshooting Manual" (publication number 61S9V03EL - $50) should be available shortly (the guy said to check back every week or two) and that the "2003 - 2006 Honda Pilot Body Repair Manual" (publication number 61S9V30) is available now for $44. These second two manuals are currently not listed on the website.

I've already ordered the service manual (it's been shipped but I haven't received it yet) and will order the ETM when it's available. I had the ETM for my BMW and found it useful for some of the repairs.

But, can anyone think of a good use for a home do-it-yourselfer like myself for the Body Repair Manual? If I were to get hit, I'd have a body shop do the repairs. Does anyone have this manual from some other year who could comment on the contents? Would it be useful for other types of repairs? I'd hate to drop $44 on a manual that would just collect dust on my bookshelf.

Thanks!
Larry.

I don't have problem with sharing, but, it's a hard copy, not electronic. I'd have to scan in every page and it's HUGE!

But, if you'll be doing some or all of your own servicing with it, then it would pay for itself (IMHO). That's why I bought a copy. If you can save the labor of a single visit to the dealer, then that $75 manual just paid for itself and then some, based on the $168/hour labor rate of Capitol Honda in San Jose, CA where I bought my Pilot (no, I won't be using them for service unless it's something where my independent mechanic doesn't have access to some special insider info).

My 2006 Pilot Service Manual arrived four days after ordering on line.

WOW 2480 pages, about the size of yellow pages.
Would be better if they would publish in smaller related volumes. Engine, trans-axle, fuel emissions, electrical, body, heating & A/C etc.
Will take me several evenings and several scotches to digest this one!

My 2000 Odyssey Service Manual 1520 pages. 91 Accord Service Manual 1242 pages.
89 Civic service Manual 926 pages.
87 Civic service Manual 1002 pages.
