Does anyone know if I change the oil myself, and use a non-genuine Honda oil filer, and non-"honda" oil, if I'll be voiding my warranty? Planning on using a fram filter and quaker state oil....
Also, in the book over at Wal-Mart, they don't have parts for 2006 Pilot. Is the oil filter the same size as the 2005, and thus can I just go by that? thanks. |

As the OM discusses, keep a logbook of the maintenance and save receipts and you should be fine.
Personally, I'd spring for the official Honda filter while still in warranty. In the unlikely even you have some kind of lubrication-related failure, I'd feel a lot better when the dealer sees a Honda OEM filter on there and not some bargain-basement Walmart special. Some of the aftermarket filters (e.g. Fram) have a very poor reputation. Whizmo |
