I have an 05 Pilot EXL. Had the oil changed at a shop but I can not reset the maint. light. When I hold in the reset button for a few seconds the temp comes up and scrolls from 1-5, 0, -1 to -5 and so on. The key is in the acc on position but the engine is off.
Help! |

Are you holding down the reset button before you turn the ignition key? Also, make sure that you're holding it down for at least 10 seconds... the indicator should go off by then.

If your key is in the ACC ON position as you indicated, you haven't turned it far enough. It needs to be in the ON position.

I have a problem...
I have passed the 6k mark since my last oil change. At first, my light flashed as it should. Now it does not. The extended flashing should happen every time I start the car till 7.5k when it turns solid. An electrical issue prehaps???

Does anyone know if the maintenance light counts 7500 miles from the time its reset or just in 7500 mile increments i.e 7500, 15,000 etc? I change out my oil at 4-5K intervals and as such haven't ever seen my service lights since I hit the reset each time I change it... maybe I just answered my own question. I am curious if your falling into this same scenario
