and since it's a Saturday and by brother was off (he has access to a lift and lots of cool machines), we accomplished the following.
Tranny Service VTM Service oil change with Mobil 1 rebalanced all 4 tires. truck runs oh so smooth now. Also, as a side note, I don't know if it's the new wheel and tires, the adding of some extra ground wires, or that California is off the summer grade gas, but my last two tanks netted an average of 21.5 mpg. Previously, I was only averaging 17 in mixed driving. The tires are even wider and stickier, so I didn't think they would contribute to better mpg. Has anyone else in Cali seen an increase in mileage the last couple of weeks?

I consistently average about 19 miles per gallon combination freeway and city driving. Have not notice any increase in miles per gallon the last couple of week. But price of gas is coming down.

I went from Bridgestone Duelers (stock tires on my 2003) to Acura MDX wheels and tires. 17" rims with 235/65 Michelin MXV-4 GreenX tires.
So I went from a "SUV" tire to a tire that is a passenger car tire. I understand the MXV-4 is even designed for low rolling resistance. Thats the green X designation from what I gather. I gained about 3 or 4 mpg. Checked on the same 310 mile flat highway trip to the grandparents. Cruise set the same, same weight, same winds. So im thinking that tires make a very large distance. The instant I switched wheels, I felt a difference. Literally felt like I was pushing the pedal less hard. And I was not expecting any change. I actually expected the opposite. I figured a higher-profile, harder, tougher tire would give roll easier than a sticky "street only" tire. However, the 17" wheels combo is ever so slightly smaller diameter, that throws things off. Wait, would that make it even better MPG's ? Im too tired to think it through. Pros of 17" wheels with MXV-4's: MPG's, . Quieter (like night and day), takes corners much better. Feel more in control. Cons: Immediately felt like the ride was harsher. Felt more small bumps. Not as cool looking as Deulers. Not as macho.

Looks like oil change, VTM fluid, tire rotation and a bunch of visual inspections. Price is $189.00. If time allowed I could do most of it myself. But since my appointment is in late December it will be a bit too chilly to work in the driveway. So I will pay the $ and go my merry way! Sometimes I think you have better recourse if you let the delaer do the work should something go wrong. You can go broke however spending money at the dealership, I know. I have the 5/100/0 HC warranty that I bought for $696.00 so I think I will keep the book stamped along the way and see what happens. Cheers to all!

For my 15,000 service I paid $75 for Vtm and an oil change. $189.00 seems steep to me even with the tire rortation.

Had 15K done yesterday on my '05. Also added in A/T drain/fill. Total came to $235.29. I asked about on board air filter; they wanted $95 to change it! I said no thanks. During the tire rotation they suggested a $39.99 balancing of the tires. Once again, no thanks. VTM change also included. A little pricey but I'll be done for another 5 months or so. I am averaging 2150 miles per month so far for 7 months. Excellent vehicle. I haven't had the vibration issue or some of the other issues that seem to come up here. Lucky, I guess.
I am surprised that the engine air filter is supposed to go 30K before changing out? I think I'll do that one myself pretty soon. Merry Christmas to All!!
