Default When is the best time to change fluids?

As a do-it-yourselfer, I'd like to pose this question to this wonderful forum.

When is the best time (whatever time that maybe that will yield better results) to change the engine oil or the transmission oil of the Pilot?

While the engine is still hot (right after it has run 5 miles at the least) or when it is cold?

Or does it matter?

Thank you.

Hot. While everything is suspended in the oil. Don't put the cork in 'er until the small stream turns to a drip.

uh-oh, another "oil thread".

Warm. If it's too hot, you take the chance of burning your hands if you get oil on them. Drive around for about 5 minutes, then let it sit while you get all your stuff ready (e.g. tools, drain pan, new oil, etc.).

You want it warm (especially if it's cold out) so that the oil will drain easier (and quicker).
