Default Oil & oil filter change question

The 05 service manual says to change the oil every 7500 mile or year but the filter every 3500mile/6months. Does this sound odd to anyone else? Any problems with the warrenty if I did both every 7500 miles instead. No sure why one would change the filter and not the oil at the same time.

Default

Never mind the changing of the oil filter at 3500miles was for severe conditions. Should have looked closer before posting.
