Default First scheduled maintenance is when?

I've got a 2005 EX-L approaching 3000 miles purchased in August. When should I schedule my first service? I have called 2 dealerships, 1 said 3500 miles, the other said 7500. What else should get done at this checkup besides a general vehicle inspection? Thanks!

Read the owners manual.

3750 for severe use, 7500 for normal use.

3000 to 3500 to help your dealer make the payment on his new boat.

Split the difference and go with 5000 miles for your maintenance schedule. Many Pilot owners on this web site use this method and its easy to remember. Welcome to Hondapilot.org

Ditto.

The manual actually doesn't call for the first service until 7K, which is why I called my dealer and asked them what they recommended. At first, the dealer said 3750, but when I questioned him about what it says in the manual, he changed his tune and recommended 5K.

Critical Reading time.

The manual give you the Normal and Severe schedules and says "Do not change the oil until the recommended time or mileage interval shown in the maintenance scheidule"

It says NOTHING about the first change at 7K.

Sorry, when I was referring to the "manual", I meant the documentation that accompanied the vehicle collectively - including the maintenance schedule.

We're talking south of the border in miles.

What do they recommend in Canada in KM?

Default Just had my fisrt service

The manual for my 05 says 7500 miles or 1 year for normal service. I purchased my vehicle last December but the state inspection sticker is from October.
I went with one year from the inspection and had the oil changed at 5600 miles.

Yep, me too, got my 05 EXL 3 months ago and already had 5000 miles on it (that is what two vacation trips will do) so I brought her in at 5000, which is what the dealer recommended for an oil change/inspection.
