Default Coolant color?

What is your pilot's coolant color?

My 06 EX is blue. Hard to find this color in shop.

honda type 2 coolant is blue. Honda recommends you use only that... you only need to top it off....coolant service is at 120K miles

Thanks, forget to check the coolant level when pick up from dealer.

Just below the low level! Have to top if off.

Do you know how much is it from dealer?

Thanks

You should be able to get a quart that's already pre-mixed with the right amount of water for something in the neighborhood of $5.

Amazingly, my coolant level (blue) was below the min point the day after I took it from the dealer ! Honda charges $10 for a gallon of 50/50 premix -- I just hate to pay $5 for water. So I just used a few ounzes of distilled water to bring the reservoir level upto minimum. I will have the dealer top it off at my first oil change.

I picked up my 06 on Monday and realized Wednesday that the coolant tank was almost empty. Dealership is taking care of it no charge, as it should be...

Having to pay for fluids for a brand new vehicle? Then when will they start delivering them with no gas, oil, coolant, brake and steering fluid, and worst of all, no washer fluid?

Honda went to Blue "a couple years ago" according the mechanics at my dealer.

Mine is green. (2003)

Mine is green too but I just bought a gallon from the dealership that is blue. The guy at the parts desk was a little hesitant to sell it to me since he said that mixing different colored coolants will create sludge in your radiator but someone else overheard the conversation and said that both the green and blue Honda coolants are OK to mix since they are both the same thing (type 2). Hopefully this is true since they said Honda no longer makes the green type 2 coolant.

Default 100% sure they can be mixed

I talked with two mechanics, from different dealers. Both said 100% sure they can be mixed.

The color is different, thats it. Color was changed to keep people from mixing in whatever green coolant they find at walmart.

I always get a kick from the last sentence on the Window Sticker of many new vehicles on the dealer lot "Full Tank of Gas N/C" !

Wow, I guess Honda of Canada is getting a bit chintzy on putting the coolant in their new vehicles. I too picked up mine fron the dealer two weeks ago, and noticed the coolant was a hair below the MIN mark . I asked them to add a bit more, and they did up to the mid-point between MIN and MAX. I thought it was just my car as when I picked up my CR-V brand new in 2002, the coolant was mid-way up. I do feel better knowing others noticed the same issue with their Pilots.
